Flooded cars at highland and I-10.

True but is there any chance with the continuous rain that the rivers can back up again?

i know this is a flash flood. but i don’t ever recall one being this severe. i, too flooded in 16 (5’8”) so i definitely know the pain involved with those now flooding. hopefully it will slow down raining enough for the drainage to catch up before too long.

I think it’s just water pouring off Jefferson highway

Gail Dr is by Bluebonnet and Ward Creek. Ward Creek is going to to go an all time record tonight so that checks out.

You need to drop a good 2 feet of rain north of BR to have that sort of backup. Ascension might have a little backing up because of the rise in BR, but this isn't going to behave like 2016 and most of the water should be down by morning.

i’ll buy you a drink if true. i do seem to recall that north of baton rouge is where they were pounded in 16. that and the amite was already high to start with.

Check Home Depot in your area before you go for fans/dehumidifiers/saws etc. They will all be gone the closer you get to br. May need to bring water too

So 2016 was a... 5 year flood?

This is a flash flood. Basically it rained so much so quickly drainage just can't keep up. It isn't the rivers backing up like 2016. Be careful using 2016 as a yardstick when the event is different like this.

Update on 10 by top golf. 3 foot of water for about 3/4 of a mile on both sides. Per EBRSO.
