Not sure it’s going to drain fast. There’s literally no place in the drainage basin for it to go. Need a strong cold front to pull the plug, too bad it’s mid-May.

Damn. I guess driving to Baker from Prairieville is prohibitively dangerous tonight? Is I10 or Airline flooded?

Water got up to the flower beds and just on the front walkway. Three more inches and I may have rend my clothing out in the driveway like I was Noah.

Those old frickers had plenty of coffee and the waitress they've been hitting on for 20 years. We'd all be fortunate to go out like that.

The amite wasn't super high coming in and you don't have a ton of water coming from upriver either. Though river flooding and drainage will be slower the farther south you go.

The worst on the Amite will be from south of Bayou Manchac/Port Vincent.

It's probably doable but you'll need to be extremely careful and don't drive into any standing water.

I'd also wait as long as you can for the rainfall rates to calm down a little. It think it'll start shifting more east soon.

It is their pleasure to put on the hip waders, strap up the life vest, and take your fricking order, baw.

Don't let them down.
