Good. It was an overreach of power and a midterm election ploy by Biden.

Classic irresponsible/handout-minded response.

Accountability is not just a word.

But, please, continue.

"Denied relief to 40M" and provided relief to 310M for not having to pay for that 40M peoples stupid spending habits.

Would like to see an effort to cut costs from administrative bullshite in higher ed out of this, as there is now broad awareness that student loans will eventually have to be paid off and you should take costs of education into account when making those decisions.

And of course I think the strike down on AA is very much welcomed. Institutions need to be more transparent on admissions standards - if not, they need to look at the individual rather than profile them by race.

Classic right wing frick the common man response. Forgiving student loans allows all those people to spend more money pumping it back into the economy. If you’re actually worried about your money helping out people I can assure you your tax money goes to far worse stuff than this

Biden later today:

“The Republicans stole money from out of your pocket and want you to be homeless.”

No, Joe. The Supreme Court rules you were lying to Americans and promising them something you couldn’t constitutionally deliver.

This is 100% on him promising BS

This would be like running for student council President in Middle School and promising a 4 day school week and free candy in snack machines

Right decision. This is the job of congress, except they won’t touch it bc they can’t just sign it into existence with the stroke of a pen. They would actually have to debate it and deal with the fall out from their constituents. Time to start paying your bills like the rest of us.

I am a common man.

Debating people like yourself is truly pointless. I honestly hope you raise your children to understand responsibility.

You mean like not borrowing money at a rate in which you wouldn’t be able to pay back…..

Imagine being mad because plumbers, welders, and other hard-working Americans don't want to pay off student loans for people who fricked off for 4 years in college just to get a degree in gender studies. And now they can't find a job anywhere except Taco Bell.

Good. Teach millennials to take responsibility for the fact that they made the decision to take out a loan and now they have to pay it back. I don’t want my tax dollars going towards paying forgiveness for some dumbass who has a gender studies degree and is 150k in debt

Why should we pay the student loans for people who picked worthless majors? The expansion of federal student aid was meant to provide upward mobility for anyone but here we are looking to pay off those loans.

inflation was a direct result in money being infused into the economy with not product being produced. the bailouts and pandemic money caused there to be more demand with less supply so prices went up.

the pause on loan payments also meant money was not being pulled out and people had more money to spend which also increased demand.

loan repayments restarting will go along way to lower available sending and help bring inflation down.....

About a decade of this and there is no doubt California and the West Coast states will move to withdraw from the union like so many of you want. Of course their economy will be about the same size as the reformed US, so it will be interesting to see how it all works out.

With abortion illegal we will of course be 60% or more poor Hispanics and Blacks within 20 years so we will have our own issues to worry about like rapid crime, and anarchy.

I don't think many people were hanging their hopes on forgiveness, more like help with intrest rates - Republicans would be smart to do this in the House before 2024 campaigns start up.

That being said, I expect nothing from them.

The smart ones have been saving that deferred money in a separate account, ready to throw it all at the loans upon restart
