Yes I I also do something about it, I vote and also own a business in La. I do plenty to make an effort to make this a better place

What exactly is the OP doing?

Perhaps he’s also voting and owns a business or works for one? I’m not saying you don’t do anything to make things better, I have no doubt you do.

But wanting someone to leave because they complain isn’t smart. That’s all I’m trying to say.

I don’t want him to leave but perhaps he should. That was my suggestion and another way I’m trying to make this a better place. He’s obviously not happy here and is just bring moral down. Maybe he would be happier someplace else.

I'm not sure why youre so mad that he wants to improve things. You can stay in Houma and pay high taxes to send your kids to shitty schools the rest of your life as far as I'm concerned. That shouldn't stop other people from wanting to improve the state that by every metric is shitty.

It's really laughable that you idiots care more about "moral" than you do actually living in a productive place.

I'm just using it as an example of a shitty place that the people that live there will defend as not shitty. You could insert most cities and/or towns in Louisiana in that category.

Hell in my very first post I told him to move. If he’s unhappy in LA, life is too short. I don’t disagree.

But him moving wouldn’t necessarily be positive for the State economically or otherwise, regardless of his “morale.”

Like I said in the other thread, the timber industry is a huge commodity in LA. Much more than all other farming and seafood shite combined. As long as the housing market is stable, it is relatively stable as well

Coming on a message board daily bitching like a woman, but never offering any solutions or saying what he’s doing to change the culture isn’t helping.

I don’t think Houma is shitty. I would never live there but it’s no more shitty than Baton Rouge

That's exactly what you're doing about his bitching, which is way more woman like than pointing out facts and being dissatisfied with them.

I’m not bitching.

I just told him to leave.

Just curious, are you retarded?

Well, then again, John the Baptist never saved anyone, but people knew him because he made a lot of racket, and powerful people wanted him gone because of that.

Clearly not saying he’s John the Baptist, but just that there is a place for this, and if we don’t start talking and bitching nothing will surely happen. I’d much rather bitching and griping than comfortably numb.

I’m pretty sure I offered several solutions in the OP. Hell, diversifying is a solution and it’s the main point of the OP. Why are you so mad at me bro? Lol You and Houma came out breathing fire. I just think we can do better as a state.

I created a thread to follow up on the other one about our economy. If I wanted to bash the state I’m from and live in and that my wife is an employee of, I could have gone in a lot of different directions. I just want this to be a place people actually desire to live and move to instead of a laughing stock. I think raising awareness that we can learn from other states that have experienced similar issues and overcame them is a good thing. Is it not?

Louisiana's number one problem is any time time someone points out one of its flaws the majority of people respond with "well if you don't like it leave". It'll never improve because most residents are too stubborn to admit it's mostly a shithole.
