I agree. That truly is 100 percent bullshite, and an excuse not to change out of fear of the unknown or whatever.

To be honest. I wish more people like you would just leave already.

You don’t have to be sorry, just stop acting like a vagina.

Is it aggravating for someone living in your state to constantly shite on it? Absolutely.
But assuming TDcline is a working, tax paying citizen, which I have no reason to believe he’s not, LA should be begging them to stay. Not to leave.

He’s not making a difference. He can go. La won’t miss him.

The sun comes up and TDcline starts another bash Louisiana session.

I mean, if he’s paying taxes and spending his money in the state, he’s making a difference.
I’m not saying his departure would cripple the state, but assuming he does those things, he’s not hurting the State, he’s helping it. He’s only hurting your feelings.

I'm fairly certain he's a 21 year old still living at home. His post history would agree with that assessment.

Maybe that’s the case. I don’t know him, and it’s an anonymous message board. I know you love to hate him.
Just being optimistic and saying if he’s a productive member of society, he’s not the kind of person LA should be begging to leave. That’s all.

Louisiana has this too. I think tech and manufacturing is pie in the sky. Other States have too much of a head start. We need to leverage our location as a logistics hub. Whatever happened to that cargo airport?

Nah, la doesn’t need his bitching and negativity.
His $50k a year job won’t be missed.
Btw, I’m willing to bet he doesn’t even own a home in La.

It was a collective series of unexpected events that kept me here well into adulthood.
I had a job offer before I graduated college and I figured that it was easier to look while I was already employed so I accepted. I met my future wife shortly afterwards and her career at the time was tied to the area. We got married and had a kid and then it became an issue of uprooting a family rather than just myself.
At this point we plan to stay until my daughter is done with school.

Bud you bitch constantly about Landrieu. With damn good reason. For the record I support it without equivocation. But if bitching and being negative was a reason to not be in the state, you should be looking for a new house ASAP.

You know, I’m not sure with all the best and brightest in this state leaving we should be culling those who actually recognize the problems here, but maybe those who gladly accept the status quo, make excuses for it, and/or add to the problems with their behavior. Maybe those are the ones we should be culling from the herd.

LA makes it hard to diversify when other states are more business friendly and less corrupt.
Posted on 5/6/18 at 1:55 pm to Houma Sapien
Lol dude I’m not even bashing Louisiana that hard. I’m just trying to say we have an economic problem. If you saw the other thread about us having the last place economy in the United States then you know that. If I wanted to bash the state, I could have gone on and on about a ton of other things.
Those of you who choose to bury your head in the sand are the reason we can’t progress on a number of issues. I’m 10 years older than your guess, a homeowner, a veteran, and someone who got out of here but moved back to try to improve things.

My entire family is in Louisiana, somehow we have remained in contact and still have strong relationships. Honestly, if I can make the move, anyone can. That’s in no way a brag. I never saw myself leaving LA, and moved somewhere that I literally knew no one. It was challenging at first, but now I couldn’t be happier.
Totally agree its scary at first but i did have a family member here in jax so that helped. Every time i return to Louisiana i'm reminded of why i made the right choice to leave.

Our labor pool is fricking garbage. This state is loaded with uneducated retards. Nobody wants to invest in this shithole, especially with Honor Code as governor.
Most of the top labor pool has left the state after graduating college in La. I tried to stay in state after graduation. Im a tech guy so in order to get into a mid tier to top tier company you had to have a friend of a friend to get you in the door. This was the early 2000's. im sure not much has changed since then. You can just read thru this thread and see a lot of us have left the state. Most of us grew up in louisiana and miss it to a point. I really thought some day i would return with my family but the longer you are away the more you dont miss the shitshow with the good ole boy politics , the corruption, the bottom tier schools etc... Why would a family man want to bring his family back to that.

Louisiana charges an arm and a leg to live there. My effective tax rate was 5-6% higher in Louisiana and that's including higher property taxes, that everyone's so quick to point out like they're the end of the world, where I'm at now. My salary was actually lower too because "the cost of living is low" (not true). It's rediculous because the state really has nothing to show for the high taxes. The state either needs to actually use the taxes appropriately or cut frivolous spending.
If none of that changes nobody will be willing to move there to help diversify the state economically. The state isn't consumer or business friendly so why would anyone move there.
