Google sugar linked to. TBH I don't even care, but the sugar business shouldn't be putting their dollars in on these scientific studies. Of which they are probably few real, good studies even done.
And the fact we see grams on labels and not % percentage of daily recommend intake is the sugar lobbies influence on the government requirements.
ThinePreparedAni here on this forum has some great threads/posts on the subject of the link between insulin/cancer and sugar/cancer in general. Tons of great references in the posts too.
I hate to think something as common as sugar could be that bad for you. I don't necessarily buy it but the evidence is starting to mount where I need to go back and closely look at this since I have some small kids I am responsible for feeding.

% of daily allowance depends on each person and their individual metabolism.
This is correct but true for all nutrients and minerals. Why not treat them all the same? I think that is the point.
The government goes out of its way to treat sugar industry different. Checkout all the regulations created to protect the sugar industry. Regardless of whether you think sugar is good or bad it is reasonable to question why the government and the sugar industry are so cozy with each other.

Insulin is linked to cancer, in obese individuals. Key word is obese.
Obesity I'm general is linked to cancer.

not sure if anyone mentioned it or not but there is a global monopoly on sweeteners. Tate and Lyle own everything globally. As soon as competition comes along, they buy it. Yes, they own domino sugar too.

Insulin has been linked regardless of obesity of the person. Are they specific genetic vulnerabilities for the thin folks with insulin issues? Not sure. But the direct link between insulin and cancer occurs in fat and fit.

You're limited intellectually.
You know some things.
But you're incapable of processing them in a full-circle manner or apply a truth on top of a truth to arrive at higher truth.
Just go run PE class, dude.

Just stick with name calling.
You're too small macro'd or to locked into your little world.
You definitely should eat more sugar.

Ok whatever you say.
And yes I run PE class for a living....
I don't do anything with any type of physical education other than training myself, kids and a few online. Engineering tends to pay better in most cases.
Bunch of anti science fricks in here. Typical BS, typical I don't like your argument, but can't prove it wrong so I will just attack the person saying it.
Again just post a study, plenty of studies funded by dairy. Hell Dr Layne Norton just did a meta analysis that was funded by them, same conclusion.

Can you provide a link that says metabolism materially slows down because I can provide some that say matabolism in your 40s still functions ~95% as it does in your 20s

I'd try reading your own link bubba

I did. It provides more than adequate explanation. You just replied that because somebody actually called you out on your usual from the hip bullshite responses where you think you're being brilliant.

I will ask again, show me one scientific study or meta analysis that shows low carb, keto whatever you want to call it allows the body to lose BODYFAT at a faster rate than an isocaloric diet once calories and protein are equated.
Want to go round and round again on this?
One thing Layne never addresses? The physical feeling of over-eating to equate those "calories" when protein is kept the same for those low-carb diets. It is a gross misappropriation of the data to say "see, nothing happens" however, leaving out other data in studies showing that when left to eat ad-lib...those people just don't eat as much due to the satiation effects of low carb eating. Those studies equating protein are just not a real world representation of dieters and losing weight. Hunger drives us and hormones drive hunger.
But - you already know where I stand on this. I'm bored and just wanted to throw more gas on the fire and duck out

Then you don't understand it. It essentially says if you control for outside factored metabolsim slows down by 24 calories. That's pretty much zero. It says almost exactly what I said, that weight gain is exponentially more because of NEAT than metabolism slow down.

I do think you are both a bit right. 777 deals directly in science, and he's correct in most of what he says. However, he disregards psychology in his analysis which is arguebaly more important.

From the study that your article is based off of, list this as the conclusion. Again metabolism decreases due to a decrease in non physical activity

CONCLUSIONS:
The age-dependent decrease in TEE is mainly due to a decrease in physical activity. The stable energy intake and body weight of the GISELA subjects may be indicators for a relatively good health status

He's a fricking idiot trying to play gotcha against me because I call him out on his numerous stupid post, including that one.

No I understand it.
I even posted the study that shows on a ketogenic diet that over a 6 month period keto dieters tend to lower energy consumption and unlike those following isocaloric diets, they did not decrease NEAT.
I agree with Junky on this exact thing 100%. Keto is a great tool to use if you like to eat. Offers some unique advantages, as does IF.
But keto does not cause you to burn bodyfat at a faster rate. Lowering caloric intake is what does. That is all I was saying.
And not everyone eats less on keto. I personally have to watch my caloric intake even closer on keto.
And keto isn't easy for many to follow. And that is reflected with it's 23% rate of people sticking to it, which is the same as....you guessed it, all other diets.
I love keto and carnivore, I just acknowledge it has no real metabolic advantage other than it does allow body fat loss from lower blood flow areas like the stomach easier than isocaloric. I also acknowledge it is a detriment to performance for almost everyone.
But yes, I try to deal is science. When helping people I try and keep it as simple as possible. If I tell people to track daily protein intake and weekly calories, it allows them to go with friends on Saturday and not feel guilty, to have a candy bar if they are on their period, to live a normal life and only worry about two things. It allows the. To correct and adjust for one bad night. It allows flexibility.
