After a 12 day binge drinking over a fifth of vodka/day, I aruptly stopped. With hours my hands started shaking, I was sweating through my clothes, my muscles would clinch and release over and over, and I even had audio hallucinations (I heard a cat meowing over and over again that wasn’t there.). After a few hours, I had to have something to drink to alleviate the symptoms and went straight to a medical detox facility. I truly thought I was about to die. Absolutely horrible!!

I guess I am lucky. I went five years straight drinking at least a pint of bourbon straight every night. Never missed a day. Got tired of feeling and looking like shite and quit, joined the gym and started eating healthy. Had zero withdrawal symptoms other than no sleeping well for a few days.

I think he was addressing the guy who said:

Well, I never had the urge to do $600 worth of suboxone in a day. With true opiates that was just a weekday..

Tylenol is not added to opiates as an abuse deterrent. It is synergistic with opiates to relieve pain and a pretty good pain reliever when taken appropriately and in moderation.

Incorrect. I'll try to find it. But Australia did a massive, multi-year study on the pain relief effects of acetimenophen vs a placebo. And acetimenophen was a few percentage points WORSE than a placebo at reducing pain.

NSAIDs are much better for that task. Look at how well scaled up ones like diclofenac(causes heart issues) and toradol(basically kills your innerds after taking it 10 days in a row) deal with pain. Toradol is amazing. I feel nothing on it, and I'm in pretty bad pain most days.

Typical OT responses or typical drug users that no matter what they see and hear about the dangers they still want to get high.

Ill never be able to understand it. We all know the dangers of heroin and meth but yet everyday there are people out there that give it a try for the first time. Rarely will you find a junkie that says " yea man, I fricked up". Its always some poor me story about how they got addicted.

It's still an opioid
so is methadone and suboxones. Point is if you use Kraton to quit the pill/dope addiction, then you can then easily quit kratom. Where as methadone and suboxones take much longer and the withdrawals are much worse.

Interesting. how about IV tylenol vs morphine for pain reduction due to rib fracture?

Is it an opioid? I hear it talked about in the recovery community because addicts in halfway houses take it because it doesn’t show up in drug test. I thought it just ‘mimicked’ an opiate, not actually considered one.

On the same note, it does make recreational use less safe, but that was never the intent behind the addition of Tylenol to opiates.

Fortunately, for the livers of the addicts separating the acetaminophen from the opiates is basic kitchen chemistry. Grind the pills and form a solution with warm water then chill it and the acetaminophen with precipitate and can be filtered off and you are left with a poppy cocktail.

These actions all have known negative consequences, yet people continue to do them.

You do realize that addiction is actually a behavior, right? The substance is almost inconsequential. So, while we may ridicule people who are fat for their inability to control their food, are in debt due to shopping, we typically will sympathize with those who are addicted to opiates.

When you look at the actual behavior, they are quite similar.
