I remember first time I played I was nervous too.

I played tight and won a few pots, but I didn't know good etiquette was to tip the dealer. Luckily I figured it out after an hour or so, but I was embarrassed I stiffed the dealer a few times.

I mean, technically it changes the order for the rest of the deck
It sure does, and it also changes your probability of winning that hand greatly.

The thing is, in the long run, it'll help you just as much as it'll hurt, so over a large sample, your probability of winning does not change. Over a small sample, it changes greatly, but just as often in your favor.

I dont believe this is so.

The other thing I did that first game. I ended up winning a decent amount, and I took my winning chips and put them in my pocket so I remained with my buy in at that table. Man, that pissed some people off.

I quickly learned the live poker etiquette!

Sorry, meant "you" as a random person....not specifically directed at you Sauce.

The don't hit scenario was just an example, not based on what you said.

My bad.

It's cool.

I agree with the scenario though. I just dont like random people approaching me with unsolicited advice when they are not even in the game. lol

I clarified that I meant doubling down on a soft 14 when the dealer shows 6 or less.

Explain to me how that is bad gambling.

Couple weeks ago I was in Las Vegas and saw a guy split sixes. The dealer even looked at him like "you sure you want to do that?"

When I was in college, a friend of mine who was a midget would cheat like crazy, and we would split the winnings. One time he dealt the exact same hand and I was the only one who noticed.

Because one is supposed to double A-3 against 5 and 6 only.

Unless one is playing a DOA single deck game. Then it's double against 4,5,6.

These are basic strategy plays, experts may play this hand differently if they have information.

First time I played Blackjack at a casino I was dealt AA

Didn't know I could split so I simply hit and got a face card (12) then hit again and got another face card

I could have had double blackjack!!!

The idiot at 3rd base on a blackjack table helps you just as much as he hurts you from a statistical standpoint

Mike Shackleford at Wizard of Odds wrote an article about how complaining about these people is stupid.

Pretty terrible dealer it sounds like. Typically they'll offer advice on what you're to do there. Even against a dealer Ace you should Split Aces.

Also, you would have two 21s, not BJ. Difference is you could still tie the dealer when you split Aces into a 21.

So I'm in Vegas with my boys, and they're all, 'Yo, Traditions, let's roll to the strip clubs! So, I'm like, 'A-snappa-doo!' So we find this choice nudie nest near the airport. Where we play a little high dollar uno. After about six or seven drinks, my buddy Erikson drops a draw four on this chick right after she called uno. She got mad and that is when the bouncer wanted to kick us out, but my boy Teddy Westside devised a plan to keep us in... long story short;I have no idea if Svetlana ever got her green card, but, dudes, fake diamond ring? Worth every penny, baw.
