Get these people on kratum stat!

The people I know that take kratum used to take the same stuff that is being talked about in this thread and they never looked back. Some were taking 10-15 pills a day and now are doing fine thanks to kratum.

Not sure why this would get down voted.

As a nurse I was taught over and over "Pain is the 5th vital sign" "Don't forget to treat the patient's pain" "Pain is whatever the patient says it is". Didn't want those patient satisfaction scores for the hospital going down cause the patient had pain. So don't hesitate to give them pain meds and make sure to get the doctor to order them pain meds. Again...can't have those scores going down.

Nail meet hammer.

This escalated due to the Affordable Care Act/Obamacare.
When I entered the medical field in 2000 this wasn’t the case. Early 2012 it exploded.

Here are a few of the victims of the opioid slaughter from one state - Ohio. [from hopeoverheroin.com]

70,000+ American dead last year - MSM & most Dems and RINOs? - all but silent

"Darwinism" is what the Big Pharma spin docters have indoctrinated us to say.

bullshite! This is chemical warfare.

I dont really think its related to Obamacare. It's more related to hospitals being more focused on the bottom line and patient satisfaction scores. Admin is obsessed with those idiotic things. We hear about it at our work and most of them dont even pay out of pocket to be there. Its absurd.

I was a brand new nurse in 2001 and this “pain is the 5th vital sign” was pushed on me heavily then as well. So no....it’s not about Obamacare. It was all about the hospital getting better patient satisfaction scores. Administration pushed that onto the nurses alll the time.

Its everybody in all walks of life. Lawyers, doctors, everyone is eligible. And contrary to popular OT opinion, none of them woke up one day and decided "hey, I want to get addicted to pills today." Just not the way it works.

Yep. The fact you get 60 opioids after your wisdom teeth are removed or you have a minor surgery, and it takes 3-5 days to become addicted... it’s a recipe for disaster.

Not anymore....I had laparoscopic surgery and I got 10 pain pills that could be taken every 4-6 hours as needed. My surgeon said that would be enough to cover my pain.

And it was.

I’ve had a couple minor surgeries since then and in preop they make you sign all kinds of documents now about using pain medications.

You laugh but I'm not talking about a bad trip. I'm talking about honest to God psychosis for 2 weeks... ended up in a psych hospital locked down. Go ahead and laugh but this really happened. I was always very supportive of pot until that happened and now I have second guessed allowing pot for everyone.

I know someone that very recently went into psychosis because of weed. It's not as safe as I thought or that people make out. Weed psychosis is very real and this person did not smoke a lot to get there. Scary as hell

It's so much more potent now. I still think everything should be legal but weed is not as harmless as we think it is.

excessive drinking is linked to 88,000 deaths each year — more than all the 64,000 drug overdose deaths in 2016

"Linked to" is very different than a direct result of.

People dying in their 80' and 90's of heart disease, liver disease, and dozens of other causes can be "linked to" alcohol.

Alcohol is not killing young otherwise healthy Americans in the instant way these killer drugs are.

It's someone else's fault when Big Pharma pushes a substance that they know kills people. Then buys off the media and Congress.

Not my experience. I'm prone to claim im not in pain anymore because of all the lectures that come with it.
