Only in the southern part of the state.

People in the northern part of the state don’t have them in high numbers so a number of them, like one of my in-laws, lost their shite over Jindal’s voucher push.

I knew a lady who lived in Montgomery. When her oldest was in the 8th grade, they started looking to move. Her daughter was zoned for Lee High School. Ended up moving to Elmore County and putting her kid in private school. That was 15 years ago. It hasn't gotten better.

Which is why Louisiana has a metric frick ton of private schools.

Which generally out-perform the public schools.

Schools in Texas tend to be segregated as well. Due to kids going to neighborhood schools. For example my kids will go to Bridgeland High School African American 9.73 % Hispanic 20.00 % White 57.57 % Asian 8.24 % Disadvantaged 12%

Then there is Cy Springs HS two miles down the road. African American 30.25 % Hispanic 50.89 % White 9.97 % Asian 6.43 % Disadvantaged 62%

Admittedly, I’m not very smart, but it appears to be more of a income-class issue, than a race issue

I've made that drive several times up 75, though it's been a few years. It's closer to 30 minutes from Pinson from what I remember. At least to downtown Oneonta. I mean I guess if you count the city limits right past Allgood, it's 15 minutes, but there's really nothing much of consequence for a few more miles from that point.

I’ve made that drive almost daily for over 20 years. It’s 15 minutes from Oneonta to Pinson and 30 to the B’ham City limit.

Public schools are a lost cause. No way I send my future kids to one.
