Leaving Lafayette now so do I take 190 or I-10 back to BR?

Sounds like you need to take your helicopter.

It is an absolute cluster any way you slice it. Westbound was being diverted at 415 due to a fire on the basin. 190 towards Opelousas is backed up almost all the way to Baton Rouge due to traffic being down to single file at the Krotz Springs bridge. East bound was almost at a standstill due to a wreck. We ended up turning around at Butte Larose and hitting 190 at Port Barre to BR. That's about the only direction that traffic was not stopped.

190 to BR was moving. 190 to Opelousas is a complete disaster.

On 190 approaching Livonia. Any better way to get to Lafayette?

Not that I know of. If you don't have to be home tonight, I'd really almost suggest stopping at one of the hotels off 190 for the night. Traffic was that damn bad heading to Krotz Springs.
Actually if you can turn around, head back up to the Highway 1 exit off 190, take that all the way to Marksville, then hit 49 there to get back to Lafayette.

In an airplane. Moving at 500 plus mph coming from Atlanta now... probably will beat you there.

Left laffy around 7:15. Took 190, smooth sailing so far.

I did the 17 mile gravel road as well.
Not a big fan of the parking lot.
Texas plates but SOLA boy behind the wheel. Seen lots of Texas plates turn around looking a little lost when the roads weren't paved....

Yall better be glad it has been dry. That road gets pretty bad when it has been raining during hunting season

Hope my topic about it helped. I was right at the exit stuck in traffic and a guy in the car next to me told me to let him over and he would show me how to get to 190. About half way down that road I came close to giving up because I was almost certain I was following a guy to my death but it paid off.
