Pretty sure dipping fries in mayo is standard in some European countries. They don't even serve ketchup

Greek yogurt on bagels, almost like flavored cream cheese. Dip fries in mayo. Catalina dressing on pizza. Doritos on ham & cheese sandwiches. Half & half mayo and ketchup mixture to dip peeled boiled shrimp in.
ETA: dipping McAllister's sandwiches in balsamic vinaigrette.
