The girl who's locker was right next to me for 4 years in high school was a big swimmer. A few years ago she hit her head doing a turn and posted on FB that she had a headache from it and was going to sleep. She never woke up. She was way too young.

They tell me my great uncle died on a fishing trip in the gulf when a small piece of an airplane, flying above, fell off and hit him in the head. The boat and other "fishermen" were unharmed.

also have another odd story "woman lived though" but still this one is crazy as hell.
My wife works in surgery, she came home one day to tell me about a case they had to do on a woman to repair he whole neck/throat. cause of injury, she was feeding her donkey and the mfr bit her throat out! Ripped out whole dam esophagus... she lived but wouod have to breath through a tube rest of her life. Had to totally repair neck, but said main concern was infection so i dont know if she lived one day or years after. But she was alive at the time

An old regional fan favorite Mma fighter Oscar Jackson (brother to ufc veteran Jeremy Jackson) got into a fender bender on an over pass in Alexandria and was pinned against the railing one night
He couldn't open his door so he climbed out of his window and fell to the roadway the level below and was struck by traffic down there.
Sad story

I guy I went to high school blew his head off on an interstate overpass with a shotgun. he had taken 20 hits of LSD a few hours prior.
that was pretty shocking.
Some dude i went to college with got run over by a semi while changing a tire on the side of the road.

Father of two in my hometown was driving home one night when a bolt from the truck in front fell off, broke his windshield, hit him in the forehead, and killed him.

Unfortunately, me and the old man that was my other neighbor, actually did find him,but we didn't unzip the bag.Someone from The County did that, I don't know if it was a sheriff's deputy, or the coroner.
The Sheriff told me the details.

About 15 yrs ago my SIL's brother was found in his back yard dead. He had been practicing with his bow (rigged for bow fishing) and there must have been a kink or knot in the line, causing it to spring back at high speed. Arrow entered his eye went through his skull (nock first). Gruesome way to die. I know it sounds impossible, and I would not have believed it if not close to the family.
A couple of years ago something similar happened to a dentist in Baton Rouge a week or so before I had an appointment with him. He was checking the draw weight/length of his bow after restringing it. Pulled the string back and the bow slipped out of his hand. The cable guard went into his temple and killed him instantly.

A friend of mine and a regular poster on here wasn't feeling well freshman or sophomore year of college and found out he had type 1 Diabeetus. We had gone out drinking a bunch of times and he ate whatever he wanted for years. Crazy
Yeah, kind of what happened to my brother, but much earlier. I think he was 9 or 10. But he was puking, had to pee a lot, etc. His Blood Glucose level was around 500 when he was in the emergency room (normal is 100).

When I was a kid I had a piano teacher whose husband had gone out to feed the cattle and didn't return home.
Somehow he fell into or otherwise got caught by whatever farm implement he used to grind feed grain for the cows. They found what was left of him ground up in the feed trough.
