"You as well"
And I move on.

“Blessed” has religious overtones I don’t like but so what

Other than just being dead-set determined to find new ways to be absolutely miserable and angry, why would someone be bothered by someone wishing them a blessed day?
Well, to me being Blessed means being Blessed by God.
And for some purple haired, nose ringed, elf ear wearing pinko with a T-shirt that reads Vote Blue.. I sort of view it as an insult to God. And they are just actually trying to make themselves look good as a person, when deep down in their heart they are just scum. Because they probably were posting Death to Trump voters on the internet the day before..
That's why.
Death to Trump voters, but have a nice day.

No.. In this case it is trying to actually prove a point...
I get "Have a Blessed day" from people who won't even allow a bible in their house. That's who I hear it from the most.

I feel the same as I would if someone said
Have a good day.
Have a great day.
Have a splendid day.
Or in a different situation if someone says thanks or thank you or says yes sir or no sir, or if someone holds a door open for me.
It’s called good manners and civil people living in a civil society used to do all these things as a course of habit. I don’t really feel anything when it happens because that should be the norm. However it does saddens me to see it happen less and less often.

I feel the same way as if someone says goodbye or anything else. Who gives a shite

I couldn’t imagine getting upset from someone giving me a greeting and being nice

Good lord, how miserable do you have to be where this bothers you? I guess I’m an a-hole for smiling and saying hi on the elevator vs pulling out my phone and pretending to look at something to avoid human interaction.

I hope I have a blessed day, too.
I'm not religious but when people say God bless you, I'll pray for you, etc I aweknowledge that their intent is good and thank them.

If you like it keep going to Chick Fil A. If you don’t, stop going there.

Exactly.
I'm atheist, but it does not bother me at all when someone wishes me a blessed day.
I end almost every conversation I have with "have a great day."

Has been my experience that SOME of those "have a blessed day" people will stab you in the back when it serves their purpose.
