The setting was supposed to be the 80’s. It’s like a LARP version of dungeons and dragons. I’m sure Hollywood gets a lot wrong like other periods of time but what’s ridiculous is there is an entire generation of people alive from that decade to tell you the shite is completely wrong. Hollywood always gets the '80s thing wrong. They go for nostalgia but I don't think they really feel any actual nostalgia for the period. The only thing I can think of they've gotten right is the Miami Vice movie. But that was Michael Mann doing Michael Mann, he didn't need the same color palette as the show to capture the essence of it.
