Yep. no flooding in NOLA but it's pretty bad. No water in Jefferson or NOLA from what I gather.

The old record is a little better than you think because of shipping noting fish storms from back in the day.

How bad where the power lines on the road. Trying to get back in tomorrow, but we know we have power lines down throughout the neighborhood. Part of me has it ingrained in me, never drive over down lines. The other part is, well the area has no power so I should be good.

in all honesty power lines werent bad down on the roads in orleans parish. Went through Gentilly, Lakeview, Mid City, CBD, and Irish Channel (basically almost all of New Orleans ) and i didnt see really that many power lines down.

Metry was worse, and drove over to check on my parents place in Mandeville after and that was a nightmare. Power lines down everywhere. The main intersection by their subdivision was damn near impassable because of two trees and multiple power lines

If you like seeing really cool/good weather photography follow:

@dopplerjess
@PaulMSmithPhoto (Amazing lightning photographer)
@wxmann
@spahnn711
@cpprstarestorm
@NightLights_AM

All of those will "pretty up" your feed.

Storm chasers:
@StrmChsrHunterF
@TheTXWXchaser
@PawneeStorm
@PecosHank
@DanielShawAU (An Aussie who comes here every year to chase tornadoes)
@aaronjayjack

(I could put 100 here)

For weather history:
@tornado_talk (They also have a very good website)
@Brandon_WX (a young kid just out of high school who just posts cool stuff about tornadoes)
@Oakhurst_Wx (I have no idea who this person is, but they post severe weather from all over the world religiously)

ETA: A worthy edition to your hurricane follows is @DrKimWood

Thanks for the response. From talking to neighbors, it appears they cleared the streets; however, I have live lines running right across the front of my property (they said it looks like the consolidated them in one area). My wife's care is in the garage and am hoping the lines will either be cleared over the next 1 1/2 days or I can drive down the sidewalk a few houses and cross over where I know a pole is still up.

Check the last run or the next. It is two weeks out and doesn't really mean much right now.

No problem. Seriously, if you just like weather, you can go to any of those people's pages and find great follows.

Paul Smith, though, that baw has had me tripping on his lightning photography for a while now. And @dopplerjess is one of the best storm photographers doing it now. Those are must follows.

I have always been fascinated by weather. It might have something to do with the fact that I was strictly forbidden to watch PG-13 movies growing up, but the one time I broke the rule, I watched Twister on a sleepover. That pretty much sealed the deal for me and left a lasting impact. I was obsessed with tornadoes growing up.

Why don’t you ever ask me questions like that?
