Drove around to find gas in 70808. The only Entergy trucks we saw were replacing some downed poles at Burbank and Starring. Haven't seen a sign of them in my neighborhood off of Kenilworth.

Nothing. My point is, as you know, it's completely idiotic to show or take serious model runs two weeks out. It's downright inexcusable and irresponsible.

Looking at the Entergy outage map for the Northshore shows no progress since the storm hit.

I know the southshore had a major point destroyed but does anyone know what's going on with the West St.Tammany area?

Yeah, the concern for the Notheast has been growing. I don't think Ida is done yet.

Demco Email...

Email from Demco:
Preliminary assessment from our seven parish service area shows extensive damage to system infrastructure. Sixty transmission poles and over 300 three-phase poles are down, which affects an estimated 60,000-80,000 members. Until repairs are made to transmission poles and substation transformers, power cannot be distributed to you - our members.

Restoration will be a weeks long effort.
We realize this is not the news you want to hear, but having this information will help you make decisions and plan now for the health, safety and comfort of your family.

I guess that guys “prediction” is what one of the meteorologists in LC said he saw floating around Facebook and to not take it seriously at all.

The contempt in his post is evident

I have to constantly remind my friends that share it, how ridiculous it is. I don't get it.

Jake my brother was a lineman ... they gotta cut/clear/assess .. it just takes time. I know 100% that it sucks. We were without power I think almost a week with Delta last year.

Hang in there .. I promise they want your power restored so that they can go home to their people.

People are freaked out, on both sides of the state, so I understand their irrational fear somewhat. Then again, just looking at Facebook posts on any local meteorologist’s page reminded me how many stupid people there are out there.

My wife has learned to ask me what rds and Duke say when it comes to hurricane threats. Her eyes have been opened
