Has anyone been watch Weather Nation on PlutoTV? It's got Brett Adair and others on it. It's been pretty good coverage without a lot of "dramatic" moments like the weather channel

The butthurt over Pirate King correctly predicting the path is hilarious. The "experts" in here are so upset.

Not sure if serious.

Dude said it would hit the state line and would be luck to make it to a Cat 3.

Actually he predicted a “nothingburger” last night two hours before it blew up into a Cat 4 storm.

what it means when the power goes off for 20 seconds and then back on

Recloser fumction on a breaker, very common. Idea is that most faults are transient (wildlife, vegetation, etc) and will self clear if given the opportunity.

Sequence of operation - fault detected by the protective relay which opens the breaaker, timed interval passes where the breaker remains open, protective relay recloses the breaker in an attempt to clear the fault if it hasn't cleared already, process can repeat a few times depending on the relay's settings.

If the fault persists after a few shots, the breaker remains open and the line deenrgized until the fault is located and cleared manually.

Reclosers lessen the duration of faults for customers and keep dispatch to a minimum.

I think they will struggle to find the winds for it, but it could happen.

Will I be able to say I’ve been in HF winds in BR after tonight?
. Looking less and less likely tonight in my opinion as the track clearly moving further and further east, all the while the west side looking less and less formidable. My guess is no more than tropical storm force gusts at this point. I think BR can breathe easier now.

It turned and the eye is now 4 miles East of me. It’s going to keep me on the edge. At least I’m not on the NE side. Those poor folks are getting hammered.
