Suppose to get bad here around 7 pm

Per Jay Grimes, whatever BR is supposed to get will start around 7 pm, but peak stuff not until 11 pm to 2 am. Jay Grimes seemed pretty certain that we'd get 60- 70 mph sustained, higher for gusts. But maybe we catch a break.

Does everyone have to apologize if this is as bad as it gets in BR?

I'm optimistic, and even I don't think this is as bad as it gets in BR. That's just absurd.

Also, just poured myself a gin and tonic.

Can confirm. Brother who lives behind the mall isn’t having a whole lot of fun right now

Grandmother who lives 3 houses down from my parents just FaceTimed my sister. Wind is gnarly. She said she stayed for Camille, Betsy, Andrew and now Ida. She's never staying for another.

I'm more optimistic about BR than I was earlier.

WWL is probably the worst channel on the local news these days. WDSU and WVUE are much better

I could see how you'd argue Fox 8 is on par with WWL, but WDSU is several notches below both.

In fairness, that's a low bar to get over, as you were pretty dour earlier re: Baton Rouge

Definitely going to get worse in BR but to me 60-70 mph winds as opposed to 110 is “dodging a bullet” especially seeing what’s happening in Houma.

I'm less optimistic east of Baton Rouge, if that gives better context.

I had 4 pints of Cobbler beer, now I'm working on Bloody Marys, using some Trinity vodka as a base.
