Don't all those bayous have locks and gates now?

Many do but there isn’t a way to close off the intracoastal and it’s open on the west end at miners canal and the coppasaw.

Obviously HRRR isn't good for wind, but gives an idea of the timing.

He works at Cport. I'm trying to figure out if he's actually still down there, but from what he was saying yesterday he's supposed to still be there now.

Good Night. See y’all at 4:00. Time for a nap. 4 miles East of Houma. Need to rest up for the action.

Yes.

As far as the Weather Channel, Gordy was on HTV earlier ripping Mike Sidell a new one for saying Terrebonne has no protection. Mike probably said that because the Levees that were built are not on any of the storm surge inundation map projections that the NHC puts out.

How many miles eastward from eye center does hurricane winds above say 85-90 mph extend?

WWL said metro nola would experience 4-6 hours straight of hurricane force winds. And that was earlier before the 4 pm and 7pm updates that had slightly more easterly track.

I don't believe one is in right now. I saw that we won't have another until early morning hours.

Why do people keep pointing out that this is gonna hit on the same date as Katrina?

You’ve got like a 6 week timeframe for major hurricanes, it’s not that frickin rare

People probably wouldn't do it if it was predicted to be a Cat 1 or less but since the forecast was really bad it's hard not to.

Might need one of you baws to check in on my in-laws in Napoleonville. Do not understand why some Paw Paws will risk their lives for a freezer full of food.
