Parents lost 2 100' pine trees from Rita in Shreveport. Thankfully they fell away from the house but it's always in the back of my mind when these storms roll around.

cut down the killer tree last year, the remaining trees will do us some damage, now just hoping we can get out if it gets bad

Yep. Live in Metairie but evacuated and haven’t had a chance to catch up.

Heading east starting in an hour and a half. I hope we're all wrong, but I think it's better to be outside the fish bowl than inside for this one.

Mornin’ (night??) Hangit

No trees in our neighborhood at the time for Gustav but we were out of electricity for 8 days, the neighbors across the street were out for 2-2 1/2 weeks

Which was no big deal but my older three kids were only 5, 3 and almost 2 at the time

So we’ll see how this goes. This house is built well, and we don’t have many trees close

I'll check on that when my daughter wakes me up with her many complaints about needing bottles

Tell her no and shut the door. Don't let that be a habit.

I'm kidding give her whatever she wants

Wow. So 2 still breastfeeding.

seriously, good luck in this one. It is going to be a pig, and will take out all of the trailers, and some good houses, on it's way through the bayou, after landfall.

MS border, why? Isn't a prison built like, well, a prison? It borders the MS and Old River, is flooding a concern?

Morning. 8am here in London.

Do I need to send someone to make my stubborn mother leave in Mandeville?

Hard being so far away and can’t help.
