I was gonna make a joke about stubborn mothers and reason but this could be bad enough I think everyone in the path should get out. Unless it trends more east I think Northshore should be ok depending on how far she is from the waterfront.

Did the EURO ever run or is it broke?

Southeast Louisiana is fixing to get reamed. Foot of rain and winds in excess of 100 mph are going to screw up the infrastructure for months.

Bleh. Yeah. Figured.

She does have generator that auto switches on and her house is built a bit higher.

It’s the trees I’m worried about.

She in good health? Have somewhere else to go?

With the generator she should be fine unless they have to shut off the gas. I think Mandeville is far enough inland I wouldn't be worried about a roof getting ripped off but if the track holds over MC and BTR, that would put the Northshore on the stronger side.

She’s about 1 mile north of 190; 2ish miles from lake.

We shall see!

Ever since my dad passed, she can’t make logical decisions.

Good enough health.

My brother is trying to get her to go to Tallahassee, booked her a room.

Refuses. I fought her all night to not risk it.

Can’t really convince at this point. Kidnap might be only option.

But really, I’m thinking she’ll be fine. I was in Old Metairie for years and grew up Destrehan. She’s no stranger to this, but she’s alone. That’s what I hate.

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like her mind is made up. Hoping this thing finds some shear or something to weaken it before landfall

Didn’t mean to downvote! Whoops.

Thanks tho.

She’s set in her ways. Let’s hope the trees around her are far enough away.

People down there take care of each other. I'm sure she'll have a neighbor or 2 checking in on her

Depending on age, I would strongly consider it.

We've had to kidnap all the old folks so far.

In a twist of irony, my old man who orchestrated the plan is now trying to ride it out in Metairie while the rest of us get out of dodge.

Leaving him the old pump shotgun and a case of buckshot.

Hard being so far away and can’t help.

That's exactly why I can't sleep tonight.

Booked my folks a place in Florida and they have been fighting me all day on wanting to stay. I am regretting not flying down to New Orleans earlier tonight and forcing them to leave.

We all evacuated for Katrina together (which was obviously a wise decision). I don't know what the hell has changed in their logic since then.
