So we’re basically seeing a Gustav II… But with a more northerly turn after landfall..

It appears to be pretty much set with some minor wobbles east and west.

At least so far. The actual experts can weigh in on if that’s gonna change.

How has EUro been doing with tracking historically? I see how it made a bunch of east movements in that gif someone posted

For those keeping score at home, that's a 20mb drop in the 6hrs prior to landfall. Models are showing an environment conducive of RI all the way through landfall.

What those models don’t know is that I threw a 20lb bag of ice off the Atchafalaya river bridge in MC this afternoon. So we should have cooler water on the coast

Screen grab from the beautiful tornado that developed right in front of me earlier this afternoon several miles west of Maple Rock, Iowa. 2021 keeps on rolling for me. Captured some nice data using my @RadarOmega weather station. #iawx

Not sure....

Is the track pretty much set in stone or is it continuing to shift?

The track is set. The only thing left are the last minute wobbles.

think that is some of our OT weathermen running models beyond what the NHC is showing at present.

Also download the Gas Buddy app. Helped quite a bit pre and post Laura to find gas.
Maybe try late tonight or early AM to see if these places have refueled

I'm not, the kid is going with family.

I'm not excited about it. Unfortunately we are both "essential" so these types of events we don't have much option. Especially if people think somewhere in BR will be safer than somewhere in NOLA.

I’m also “essential” in situations like this. In laws are in p-ville and that’s usually where I send them. Just seems like a terrible idea this time so I am keeping them with me

I always end up telling her about the mean streets of Welsh but she of course never gets the joke.

In recent memory it has been very good but last year and this year it's been a little meh. What is notable is how it's coming in line with everything else.

It's still a top tier model. Also, I'm just going to keep saying it: just ride the NHC here. They're going to beat individual models.

Should have used dry ice so you could watch it bubble.

No I’m a guy who says the majority of Entergy customers in New Orleans will be out of power for 3-7 days if the city sustains 60-70 mph winds. If the rain projection is correct and that wind is combined with 10 inches of rain it’s going to be closer than 7 for most people in the city. Which is what happened for the last 3 hurricanes to come through or brush New Orleans.
