Saying Nola may be better off than Laffy on WWL.
Not sure how I feel about that

Those looking for minor track shifts before leaving:

Youre not going to have time to leave by the time we figure out what the wobbles are going to mean. Just plan like it is going to do the thing to frick you.

Looking at the spread of the ensembles I would suggest anyone from Lafayette to New Orleans and south to the coast should try to leave if possible or have a plan ready to go if things shift your direction by tomorrow afternoon

Martin Folde's dumb arse telling people live on air that the system has "moved, not just jogged" west. He's insinuating, not outright saying, that it's going to change the track. Now I get it, Terrebonne could possibly be saved by jogs west, but you might have people that were about to leave but now won't because of him saying that. He's using the stick to say it moved west.

And KLFY in lafayette just said it tracked back further east with the forecast track right over BR now.

Yeah, a whole home generator won't save your arse when you don't have a home to be in.

For those who stayed in Laura, how many well built homes were destroyed by wind only?

That seems a little far-fetched, but I'm all ears.

that's not smart at this point.

Nope and I've told her that and they were "fine for Andrew" and have a whole house generator but pretty sure they have trees .. hadn't been there in a bit.

I told her where I get my info and what is being said ... her husband is staying and so is she. He's a good bit older than her and she doesn't want to leave him alone. I did ask her to check in with me from time to time, not that I can do anything but .....

Seems like it loses a lot of power after it comes on land and looks like BR will only have to deal with cat 1.

yes which makes it worse for the coastal towns dealing with high winds for longer periods of time.

Have you ever been sitting in a house with no roof getting rained on for hours, watching your personal items get destroyed and there's nothing you can do about it?

I have.

Don't stay. What's the actual cost to you to leave and guarantee your safety? This cock of the walk stuff is dangerous and gets people killed.

Haven't made the call yet. Not scared of the winds, but 2 kids, one coming off of rona, and no power for a couple weeks is going to suck.

For your family, your friends and us at TD, please go.

Destroyed is hard to say. 100s were signicantly damaged, if not more

Can someone share the graphic of the strongest storms to hit BR? Was posted a while back but I'm having trouble finding it.

I didn't stay but I'm actively involved with repairs. What I've noticed is that it is completely random which homes in a neighborhood made it through and which were destroyed. I'm guessing those homes were hit with tornados. It's really bizarre and puzzling. Those homes that got hit though got rocked. No way would I have wanted to be in those places when they came apart.

"Only".

A Cat 1 rolling through EBR will knock down a shite load of trees and power. Not good.
