First recon data doesn't look good, Ida appears to be organizing quickly now. Have to wait for the VDM to confirm.

For anyone looking to book a hotel in Lake Charles, do it now. A lot of the hotels are closed and still getting renovated after Laura and Delta.

A quick PSA,should you decide to evacuate, please don't leave behind your pets. There are many places that allow pets to stay.
I've fostered a number of dogs and cats that had been "lost" during a hurricane.
We ended up keeping one Katrina dog. She was a pure mutt, but she was very friendly. One of my better ones. Our neighbors kept her two brothers.

Take pictures of neighbors trees that overhang in your yard. When one fell on my house, it went on my insurance rather than my neighbors because stupid me didn’t take pictures of it before.

We'll be on the east side of this storm which is never a good thing.

Can someone provide the link to the NHC interactive map with the black line tracking the storm?

Here you go. LINK. National Hurricane Center

This is the tropical page.

All of the advisories and everything you need is here. Verbage,Interactive maps ,etc..

The” static” one with the line. Static map with line

Look at the icons on the main page for all of your interactive maps. Adjust them. Opacity, warning layers etc.

The storm surge maps are there.

I like to use satellite view.

It is a very informative site.

Helpful Grand Cayman Island radar is operational again. #Ida's center passed by just NE. After attempting to build convection upshear, last frames suggests the low-level center is not aligned w/ mid-level center tilted NE.

Better alignment needed for faster intensification rate.

With hurricanes or other acts of nature I thought it did not matter. Our neighbors tree fell on our carport during Gustav and our insurance had to cover it.
