I was going to guess Cheniere Energy (their guys are legit but as far as I can tell, quite cautious for now).

In this case, it's clear they need to know where the CoC is before any models are accurate. It appears we'll know Friday morning.

question becomes.....do you even want to live here if another storm hits.

Nope, but I have one pulling me one way to move and the other one basically begging me not to take her grandkids away.

I was surprised to see it come out this early. Usually we will see the trop depression or storm named before we alert. It may be that we're already 6 days from landfall that's pressing the issue. With supply chain logistics the way they are now, best to get a head start and not need it, than to end up like the Lake Charles area transmission system did with Laura.

Ummm... shite

Our work forecasters who haven't missed on a storm in 4 years just sent their first alert. I can't share screenshots due to proprietary rules, but they have it hitting as a cat 4 just west of the TX/LA border.

I really hope they are way off on this one.

Hell.

I really hope for those peoples sake this thing fizzles out instead.

Ok. Let’s get real. This thing hasn’t even developed into anything yet… there is no telling where it’s going or how strong it could be. All these experts and their predictions are worthless for at least another 3 days.

In other words, start preparing for a catastrophe now.

I bet y'all wish, just a little, that the Afghanistan thread hadn't slowed down. Peej would still be bombing errbody and not practicing meteorology.

I don't feel like fighting today, Peej. So, that's the only jab I'll take.

Ok. Panic all you want…. That’s what these outlets do. They want views so you you panic…. I wish it would just go into the Yucatán and dissolve.

Big difference in panic and just being aware that a threat exists and making preparations. Go ahead and bury your head in the sand though. That almost ALWAYS works out for the best.

I call BS. No way they hit all storms for 4 years 6 days out. I'm sure their "haven't missed" includes their forecasting all the way until all models have a consensus within a few miles if each other

There’s no need to panic yet. The models are a little concerning if you do live in Louisiana. Best to prepare now then too late.

How much shite would they get if they just said ahh it’s nothing, don’t worry about preparing, all is fine and then BOOM. They always will let you know what’s POSSIBLE even if there isnt a huge chance of being exactly right. I rather folks be over prepared than not at all and the only way to get a majority of people to pay attention is to constantly harp on it. Most people don’t follow this type of stuff.
