No generator power, they are going to cut all the power when winds hit 70 mph, so I will likely lose internet then.

We just went to condition of readiness 1, so locked down now. The weather is starting to get darker, its still muggy out, but no rain or lightening or anything too rough.

Good luck. Hope all goes well.

I will put 10 cents on the one that landfalls at the border of NC and South Carolina.

The Bahamas is going to get wrecked. This thing is going to ride right up them.

I'm supposed to work on Hilton head island this Wednesday through Sunday. That area may take a big hit.

It might but most of those tracks are pinpointing the northern coast of North Carolina. My son is at school in Norfolk which isn't far away.

Ever since I moved from NOLA to Charleston it's like I've attracted storms. None of them were anything compared to this. Please go further east I don't feel like dealing with this.

It's better to be safe than sorry with a Cat 4 bearing down on the area. With the small hurricane force windfield of Matthew, a track 25 miles or so one way or the other will make a huge difference in the conditions there. It's looking better by the minute for you, but Matthew still has time for a slight change in course. Stay safe and good luck.

After Katrina, a friend in the Pac Northwest asked me if I'd ever considered retiring and moving to some place where it's safe. I said every place has its own weather phenomenon, so it wouldn't matter where I moved to.

ETA: And in 2005, I was nowhere near retirement age.

I hate to ask but can someone give me a link to the spaghetti model that always gets posted in this thread? I know some of the models that are included but my friends are being dubious for some reason and for now I'm inclined to entertain them with a response
