There is a Pastor in my area of the world that I have been made aware of that covered up the molestation of 5 Children in Colorado, got caught, took a 1 year deferred sentence, moved to Kentucky, buddies up to the local celebrity Pastor, State Senator, and Family Lawyer/Legal Counsel for the Church, and is now the head of the youth, and is the designated counselor for the children in the church.

I’m not sure how something like this happens, but I have reported it to everyone I can locally, and nobody seems to care.

What other avenues are there?

Here’s the article.

LINK

I have had a few interactions with him, and others have come to me about how he operates. And the problem is, once they get into a position of authority, he’s very slick and know how to manipulate his way into favor with the right people. All of this is available on the internet. I’m not going to tell you which pastor it is, but if you google all 3 with the work Kentucky, you can figure out who it is. I’m not the most tech savvy person, and I don’t have social media, but the people I’ve talked to say social media is the way to go. But I don’t have social media, and don’t want to. So, if this interests you, and you know how to shed light on this, please do.

I personally have never been involved in any kind of matter involving being a witness to the crime of sexual assault of a child.

What I have involved myself in is this: Let's write down and agree on what our Civic Duty is as a Citizen when a child reports sexual abuse to us. I contend that our Duty is to IMMEDIATELY call 911 and report the crime of sexual abuse of a minor. We have that duty regardless of whether fulfilling this Duty will cause us any personal inconvenience whatsoever.

What if people that I know won't like me after I do this? Tough. Do your Job. Do your Duty. Call 911.

If any adult admits to you that he sexually abused a minor, you have the same duty - IMMEDIATELY call 911 to report the crime of sexual abuse of a minor. Do your Job as a Citizen. Do your Duty. Protect the children, even if it inconveniences you.

We make the 911 call, then Law Enforcement takes over the investigation and reports criminal wrong doing to the local District Attorney who may prosecute. The Government Authorities are immediately involved and are going to do THEIR duty to protect kids. Then we Citizens cooperate with the police and the DA, as requested by them.

That's my 2 cents.

Now, your particular fact scenario seems to focus more on Church Discipline and adverse actions against clergy who have allegedly not followed written orders on when and how to respond to allegations of a child sex abuse nature. I'm not going to address that, because I'd like to keep focus on what we should do as Citizens who want to protect kids.

In closing, I would like to say that it appears that all of our churches here in the USA are struggling with issues of how to deal with this kind of issue. I think perhaps the solution is to establish a liaison with Law Enforcement and develop some written "Orders" that all church members must follow.

So, there are a lot of layers to this, and I probably need the right kind of lawyer to bring a lawsuit.

But, does anyone know what kind of lawyer sues churches for hiring this type of person. There are also 3 other churches that I know of specific instances where they are trying to cover up and silence the whistleblower/accuser.

If you know of that kind of lawyer, or know one personally. These are very affluent influential churches in the southern baptist convention, and I’d love nothing more than the right lawyer to get involved and bring major light to this

No, I’m saying he knew about it, and covered it up. Now he’s a pastor in Kentucky and people are covering for him because he never should have been hired in the first place

That has all been done, but the CPS worker called and said they are probably going to dismiss the case. It’s in the sheriff’s hands now, and they don’t seem to motivated.

So, I need someone to get this to the right influential person on social media that would be able to shed light on it

Well, that won’t help much in…

So here, I’ll do it. The names involved are:
Paul John Lavertu
James Rice
Thad Gunderson
Eric Mowen

What exactly are you scared of? A bunch of pedo bitches?

Stand up in service, and ask. “I found an article that was alarming and have a number of concerns and questions”. Seems a bit simple unless I’m misunderstanding the entire situation?

It's great that Law Enforcement got involved immediately. If they haven't any evidence to prosecute a criminal offense, the District Attorney's hands are tied because it is unethical to prosecute a case in which you know that there is no evidence that a crime occurred.

Turning to the question of how to get a church or other organization to properly respond to occurrences of misconduct of this nature - you are doing the right thing by bringing to the church authority's attention.

And I'm not qualified to provide good info on how a good citizen like you could proceed with legal actions in civil court against an organization involved in apparent "cover up" of some misconduct.

Send a "tip" to a local reporter. Only send it to one at first, and let them know that you'll bring it to another reporter if they don't express intent to create a story out of it.

Heritage Baptist Church

Gary Boswell is the State Senator he buddies up to, and Cliff Boswell is Gary’s son, a family lawyer, and legal counsel for the church. They signed off on him and put him in the worst possible they could put him in given his past

Absolutely making the church in Kentucky aware is the right thing.

Church disciples and state actions are not mutually exclusive. Further, the church need not have the same qualitative level of proof that the state ought to have.

Meaning, if I see a pastor go into a closet with a youth for 15 minutes and come out zipping his pants, it might not be enough to throw him in jail, but it should be just about enough to throw him to the curb.

Most I’ve noticed were there for outright molesting or more often scoping out 15-16 year old girls and waiting them out.

I guess if it’s legal…..?

Still creepy.
