Stop saying motherhood is the world’s most difficult job.

I was just watching an episode of Mad Men with my fiancé and the main character’s wife was bitching about how hard it is having to watch her own children. Even when she has a nanny to watch the kids too.
Got me thinking about how ridiculous of a statement that is. I’m not saying that I believe parenting is easy by any stretch of the imagination, I’ve seen the emotional hell that parents go through when their child is in pain, or their child is let down by something, or, God forbid, having lost a child.
But to say the act of parenting, especially when women say motherhood, is the most difficult job in the world makes me roll my eyes. Humans have been successfully parenting for thousands upon thousands of years, it’s not rocket science.

Fatherhood may be more difficult. Seems like a lot less want to do that than motherhood.

My 16 month old child got up a 6 am today and napped for 45 minutes. The hour before bedtime was like hell on earth.
Saying motherhood is the hardest job on earth is ridiculous. Especially if you have a nanny. Being a parent is so rewarding, and it isn't rocket science. But it is exhausting. And if you stay at home with your children all day every day it's hard.
