Yep. I’m a straight guy so I’m no expert, but it always seemed pretty absurd to me.

So I’ll put you down in the asinine “parenting is the hardest job on the planet” category.

What’s more irritating is people who DONT HAVE KIDS who assume some argumentative high ground......supported by ignorance.

At what point did I say that parenting was easy? I simply said it’s not the most difficult job in the world. And if you believe it is based on your own experience, then you probably did a bad job at raising your kids.

He was great in Space Cowboys.

It’s not a popular thing to say, but you are right.

Never said it was the most difficult; however, your position to say it isn’t without perspective isn’t correct either.

BTW, we are raising some pretty good kids with solid moral compasses. I expect it’ll present challenges in the coming years.

That said, raising a child with neurological issues (spectrum), is much more challenging and at times heartbreaking. Yet, it’s a hard job we undertake and welcome.

If being a mom was hard they wouldn't let women do it.

Nope, nor did I contend raising kids was the hardest.

I’d contend running an Alaskan king crab boat may be harder.....AND many have their kids working on them! Mind. Blown.

Being a parent is hard. It’s even harder if the other parent only contributes monetarily and not physically or emotionally there.

So I wonder how you pay for everything while you sit at home bitching about how hard it is?

Oh your husband is at work supporting his family. Got it.

Being a parent is so rewarding especially when you get to participate in the little “big” moments. I was home today and got to see my son crawl for the first time. I missed that with my daughter.

We’ve been lucky enough to have my wife be home with both kids. She gets to share so much with our son now and gets to experience all those little big moments. She had to go back to work when my daughter turned one and it was a huge strain on her and that separation.

My wife was really fortunate and was able to find a really good job where she works from home. It’s a different world today than it was 30 years ago when i was a kid and previously. But to families that don’t have the luxury to have a parent stay home it’s tough to have to miss out on things your kids are doing and balancing work and family.

Sorry but women that have the ability to stay at home and be a parent that bitch about it are selfish to a level that’s really hard to fathom.

You literally just agreed with my OP and then shite on it because I haven’t had the fortune of being a parent? Why does me not being a parent automatically disqualify my opinion on the matter? If the opinion is correct then what difference does it make who it’s from?

I’m sure you are.

All parents should.

I don’t doubt that.

And you should be proud of it.

<-- Stay at home mom. It isn't the most difficult job but it isn't the easy cake walk people think it is either.

I don’t believe it’s a cake walk either.

However, my thinking that it’s not the most difficult job in the world does not mean that I don’t think it’s the most frustrating and rewarding job in the world either.

These are jobs that are temporary, and you do and go home. Being a mother and worrying bbout your children lasts a lifetime.

Is that his “i thought roofing in August was hard” bit?

I have noticed that women don't seem to be all that motivated to make sure 50% of roofers are female.

I wonder why that is?

I don't know if I have ever seen a female roofer.

Teaching in an urban school would be extremely difficult if you cared, not so much if you didn't.
