Maybe this professor should not occupy this stolen land then. She should give her stuff to the nearest Indian tribe and go back to China.

Yeah this mythology about "European colonizers" and all the other catch words associated with it only makes sense if one believes only European/white nations engaged in territorial expansion and colonizing.

Note: they weren't the only ones.

Me thinks too many folks are ignorant on how empires and colonialism worked. People get too caught up in modern norms and try to use their current mores to criticize historical context. In they process they totally gloss over the norms and mores of those periods in time.
It’s a flawed exercise that “academics” can’t seem to understand that it isn’t a logical thought process.

What you're missing is this is all intentional. There is a reason it only points towards one culture and its vestiges.

This is indoctrination by Cultural Marxism. Its intention is to strip away any dignity or respect for Western/European culture.

Do we incarcerate children of criminals, just because of what an ancestor of them did 100 years ago?

Do any of you receive a special paycheck simply because an ancestor of yours pioneered some new territory 300 years ago?

Then why is anyone living today having to treat anyone else living today differently simply because of what either ancestor did before anyone they knew was even born?

And hilarious, coming from one of the most deeply racist countries on earth.

China, both currently and historically, isn't exactly the country that we can pretend lacks a colonial/imperial past

Your kid doesn't need that class. Just drop the class and take something useful like statistics.

This type of hyperbolic indoctrination is going to reach a tipping point eventually.

Much sooner than we would like to think. Remember, the Nazis didn't just start killing people they hate overnight, it was a gradual demonization and ostracization process....that only took less than a decade.......

There's a LOT of land in the US that wasn't occupied in 1491.

There are also a lot of tribes that accepted casinos in exchange for their land. Any such land is purchased, not stolen.

Someone needs to tell this Chicom that we don’t own this land. We occupy this land and defend it by force. If not, someone would come take it from us. This is the history of humans. He probably thinks we have “evolved” past such primitive behaviors, but that’s because he lives in a protected intellectual bubble full of soft people shielded from the evils of reality by strong men.

All land is stolen. All land has been fought over and taken. This is human history, not white European history. I suppose we should all pack our shite and flood back to our respective ethnic homelands. Good luck finding out what part of your genetic history you should go with.

But let’s not talk about that. Let’s just try to instill White Guilt like some fricking proxy for Catholic Guilt. That way people will be happier, right? fricking imbeciles. Nevermind that Africans raped and pillaged European coastal cities well after the establishment of the US and, you guessed it, enslaved or ransomed white Europeans. Or that white Europeans enslaved white Europeans before the establishment of the US or even its colonies. Or that black Africans did the same to black Africans. Or that black Africans were often the ones selling black African slaves to white Europeans. Or that slavery still fricking exists, particularly in Africa.

And let’s just ignore border wars in the Middle East. Or the long-standing French and German dispute over the Alsace Lorraine region. Or all the border disputes in Africa. Or the tribal genocides there. Or the mass forced migration of the Uyghurs in China. The Kashmir region being a complete fricking clusterfrick between India, Pakistan and China.

Jesus Christ, ignorance is bliss until you find out just enough to no longer be completely ignorant and only understand a small portion of an issue - in this case, human behavior. These people need to open a fricking book.

The Bantu “migration” in Africa was far worse in terms of the sheer number of people / tribes being conquered. Is the left ready to demonize the entire continent?

the part you bolded is pretty accurate

It leaves out efforts by Europeans to live peacefully, the violence natives enacted upon Europeans, and the fact that “natives” also colonized the land from Asia. The statement is meant to be divisive and racist.

You sent your kid to a liberal arts school?

Also...”natives” had no system of land ownership.
How can you steal something that isn’t owned?
