I do and he did. But also pretty sure that the show runners admitted they didn't stick to it.
Spoiler alert but one huge plot line that is missing between the show and the book is that Robb Stark's unborn heir is still alive in the books and is being held captive (maybe he was born later?). In the show, the mom was killed at the red wedding.
So there is a legit heir to the North

My theory is the end of GOTs is the reason the world is so chaotic today. Besides Covid, it was our last societal shared experience. If we would have had a good shared experience, we would have gone into Covid in a better head space and mentality. Instead, everyone was disappointed and pissed. That led to riots and people hating government and political strife.

I still think GRRM used Bran as a surrogate for himself. A guy who is physically weak but has the knowledge of the entire history of Westeros becomes the king.

While I agree with you on the frustration... Patricks KKC is one of the best stories ive ever read. So much that I've gone through them 3 times and the novelas.
Its worth it, even if you are frustrated that its not over.
