His death was the only celebrity death that brought me to tears. I've spent my whole life fooling with snakes (still have my pet rattlesnake), and the ease with which he handled extremely venemous snakes was just mind blowing. He was truly one of a kind.

Steve was a personal hero of mine growing up.
That was a sad, sad day

For years I talked about going to his zoo one summer and interning with them. And just about when I got old enough to seriously go, he died. I miss that man's love for life.

I was amazed at how scared he was when it came to venomous snakes in America but chased after a black mamba...

Did anyone ever play the 'Crocodile Hunter' board game with their kids? When we got it I had my doubts. But it was really fun and my kids loved it.

No, but I hope they still sell it.

He was an original in world full of phonies... No one comes close. Still a huge void in this world because of his absence. Miss him a lot.

He was a guy who truly lived life to the fullest. What a great man and he will always be missed

Idk why but I really want to see the video of when it happened.

My oldest son and I loved that show. I couldn't watch the reruns after he died. Echoing what others have said: one of the few celebrity deaths that bothered me.

I will always envy that guy for being so incredibly geeked out over his job.

He seemed like a really genuine guy. Hated when I heard about his death.

It's probably not all that exciting or unexpected. Probably just shows Steve getting close to the sting ray, then bam, sting ray fires its barb at his chest, Steve slumps over, screen goes blank.
