Is this an elected or appointed judge?

I'm pretty sure most, if not all, judges in Louisiana are elected.

Wrong. I think you are confused with who I am referring to as patriots. The Sterling family supporters are the ones that got her elected. The patriots were simply outnumbered.

BULL. shite.

Broome won by ~4,000 votes

There were nearly 82,000 Republicans registered at the time of the runoff election. Only 47% bothered to show up an vote. Certainly a higher number than the % of Democrats that showed up (42%), but when the total Registered D's outnumber the R's nearly 2:1, getting every R vote is important.

Ask yourself -- How many D's do you think crossed parties lines compared to R's? Republicans love to cut off their nose to spite their face. Yes, it is done on principle, but when you realize that D's have a much greater proclivity to vote lock step with their candidate, all the R's were doing by not showing up or crossing party lines was hurting themselves.

White was a bozo candidate, but if you've ever had any interactions with SWB it's easy to see she is nothing more than a racist with a polished veneer.

In a parish were there are nearly 60K more registered Democrats, she won by 4,000 votes. Maybe next time Republicans (and other right leaning Independents) will get off their arse and go to the polls. You may not like your party's candidate, and that's completely ok and understandable. But don't bitch when the greater of two "evils" is in charge because you held on to your principles. A lot of elections come down to making the best of two bad choices.

I've been told to not expect much protesting until later in the week. People have applied for permits to protest for the weekend on some parade routes, such as Spanish Town parade route and a route on Airline Hwy.

The problem with the info about "putting a gun to his head and saying "I'll kill you, bitch" is we don't know the context at all. Was this after he repeatedly said "put your hands up" and Sterling refused, and this was followed by the threat of "I'll kill you, bitch"? If so, it doesn't look so bad, though it may not be the appropriate way to handle the situation. Now, if he just walked up to Sterling and said this, that's different, but that wouldn't even make sense.

There will still be people across from BRPD, but yes, that is also what I've heard.

I would assume it would be a route in front of BRPD HQ, not necessarily a parade route on Airline.

What is there to protest? They said they wanted justice. The DOJ came in and did almost a year long independent investigation. Justice has been served.
