Was carrying an outdoor chair and jumped about 10 feet in the air. By the time I found a shovel it was disappearing in between 2 rocks in the rock wall around my pool. I didn't even know there was an opening in the mortar there.

What the hell do I do? I guess I'll go get some kwikrete. I emptied an entire can of wasp killer into the opening but the wall is big so who knows how many tunnels are inside.

I'm worried there's a damn nest inside the wall and who knows how many other hidden openings there are.

Suggestions? I'm high on adrenaline right now and ready to tear the whole wall down.

Obviously you have to burn the entire neighborhood to the ground.

There's a new smart home automated rattlesnake killer device that works through BT and WiFi, but it is only available at Amazon, so you're SOL.

Good news - It wasn't a rattlesnake

Bad news - It's now in your house

It is unlikely there is a nest near your pool. Snakes are unlikely to nest where there is significant human activity.

The snake will likely go away if you leave it alone.

Hidden openings in walls are attractive to snakes.

Longterm: Do you have an outdoor cat? If not, get one. Snakes shy away from areas patrolled by cats AND the cats eat mice/rats that attract snakes.

Not the worst idea but most pesticides are specific to the target organism’s physiology.

Just enjoy the benefits of a decreased rodent population.

Probably not - rattlesnakes are pretty inclined to rattle a warning when you get near them.

Nice subtle brag that you have a pool (and a home)
