A wiser man than me once told me, “No matter how hot they are, eventually you’re going to get tired of their shite”.

Thanks.
When I get divorced and find some chick with 5 kids to feed, I will bump this thread.
It's bookmarked for now.

With all 6 posts in the last few days. Wow, you sat on that alter for 4 years.
And this post will probably be anchored pretty soon due to the crappy title.

Haha, so not going the whole "broken family" route is cowardly, eh?

I'm watching the price is right and drinking a Bloody Mary, and I'm the coward? You've got it wrong, step dad.

You didn't know what you were getting yourself in before marrying her?
Be an adult and talk to her. She might be going through the fear of the marriage failing but she's too afraid to mention it.
By now you should know that to understand a woman you need the enigma. Nothing is straight forward.

It's been a great experience for me, though they have a really good father, so there is no financial burdens at all. Split time up, and alternate weekends, so they aren't there everyday, so we get a lot of alone time.
They are great kids, and I like having them around and doing the school activities with them. I've gotten really good at common core math too.

My step kids love me and I love them. Never do I introduce them or even refer to them as my step children. they are my children. I love them as much as I love my own biological daughter and they love me like I'm their biological dad. The ole lady and I argue sometimes about how I treat the son, because I'm trying to raise him up not to be a gigantic pussy(he was in a house full of women and never really interacted with any male figures.). So I toughen him up. Before me, he wouldn't even go outside barefoot, now you can't keep him in a pair of shoes lol

Why? At least there's a man/father figure/stepdad in their lives.

Are you my alter?
Sounds just like me. This has been an ongoing issue that has contributed to some really rough times. Would love to know how to get passed this shite.
I think the biggest issue is the father is not involved and our boys are the same age.

Napoleon
Anybody else let their step kids call them by their first name?

Wow. Because not wanting to raise kids that aren't your own is cowardice?
It's nature. You know what many animals do with the young offspring of a new mate?
They eat them.

You must be stupid, because the "wiser" guy fricked up that quote big time.

True. Didn't say I didn't respect them. It's just not an optimal situation.
Almost commendable if it's done with good intentions. But if some dude gets roped in by the poontang and then is supposed to pay for and raise kids that arent his...

Actually it makes damn good sense.

Father is not involved here either. That creates all kind of "scorekeeping" issues.

Yep. When that happens I get pissed. My relationship with my son is and always will be different. If you fight me on that and make it difficult when I do have him....shite hits the fan. Every fricking time.
