I am the queen of $15-20 wine in a stemless yeti type glass.

I look down on trashy beer drinkers.

It's not about the wine glass, it's about the wine in the glass.

its not about the fingerprints although that does dilute the light that needs to pass through the glass.

It’s about your hands heating the wine to body temperature not allowing it to open properly at its appropriate serving temp

If you open your mouth properly, the heat from your fingers is nominal and the wine goes down at the appropriate temp

Well mouth-breathers are usually the ones using stemless glasses, so it all makes practical sense now.

Speaking of, could you hold my stemless glass while I turn the house around?

this is of course super valid (if you are in California and drinking good wine)

Cheap wine in LA humidity and heat, not so much a factor.....

Then you should know there are more than a handful of options under $30 that are perfectly acceptable.

Ton of good wine under 30 bucks

Now finding genuinely good, not mass produced stuff under 30 isn't always easy, but easier than it's ever been. shite I saw a critic-loved cru Beaujolais for like 22 dollars at a suburban Whole Foods last week. Cheaper than Total Wine, even.

The only thing that frustrates me more than fingerprints is when a bar/restaurant serves a good glass of red by filling a small 6oz white wine glass all the way to the top.
