The teenagers, the girl explained, would pass a plastic, life-size penis around the circle. Whoever was holding it when the music stopped would have to unroll a condom onto it, completing each of the eight steps they had been taught a few minutes earlier.

Thanks, many people here haven't been triggered yet today.

Strange. When I was in junior high, they told us STDs are caused by unprotected sex.

We NEED to start the conversation, y'all!

I feel I've avoided STDs by being racist.

If you aren’t at least a little discriminating in your choice of sexual partners, you are asking for trouble

What does racism have to do with people bein smart when it comes to their sex life? Use protection, stop having sex with so many people.
I suppose these idiots are implying blacks can't afford condoms or something of that nature

Because white privilege acts as protection against STDs. FACT.

I mean, they're not wrong on the stigma front. All these people running around on those dating apps these days, you know there's easily a % of them not telling people they have an STD so that the person won't decide not to frick them.
If people were more educated on STDs, those with them would disclose it more. Or at least I hope.

A couple years back Livingston Parish schools started raising awareness around dry humping being a safe alternative and it has made a big difference.

This social justice tactic of blaming everyone except those directly involved will have some awful social outcomes 10 years down the road. It's classic social Marxism.

poorer Americans were more likely to engage in risky sexual behavior, increasing their risk of STDs.
Truly a stunning revelation from the article

How many country songs talk about pussy and shite like rap songs do? White fricking privilege.

Actual headline from the LA Times

But the picture is more complicated when it comes to the high STD rates among minorities. Gay and bisexual men make up the vast majority of new syphilis cases. In L.A. County, syphilis rates among African American women are six times higher than white women and three times higher than Latina women.
Northover said that officials need to evaluate what’s called structural or systemic racism, the way housing or education policies may negatively impact people and their health. Studies have found, for example, that people with HIV who had low levels of literacy were less likely to follow their treatment, and that poorer Americans were more likely to engage in risky sexual behavior, increasing their risk of STDs.
It's the great mystery of our time, it may never be figured out
