Price is Right or Sesame Street when I was younger both remind me of staying home from school.

Kids have a real fear of missing out. I maybe stayed home from school sick a handful of times. Parents always called my bluff so I kinda gave up trying. In high school I'd just play hookie periodically.

Now that I'm older and working age, I have a hard time calling in sick. I don't want to waste a sick day on days I'm actually sick. I can't stand sitting around. So I tell myself I'll call in on a day I can go golf. Well, when those days come around, I don't call in sick because I'm afraid someone from work will also be on the course on their actual day off.

Crazy shite always happened when I stayed home sick. I was home sick watching TV both when the Oklahoma City bombing happened and the WACO siege. There was a break in programming for special report both times.

The world is better off when I'm healthy.

Same. I was mad AF when they cut from Press Your Luck to show the Challenger take off. I remember as a kid wanting CBS to switch back to PYL once the boosters exploded.

I may be in the minority here, but I hated it. It sucked only having the Price is Right, Days of our Lives, and the different court shows to watch. I do miss the Pastina my mom used to make though.

Same! I was in seventh grade and home sick that day as well and was pissed that the coverage and aftermath interrupted my game show and soap opera watching. I was in DC two weeks ago and saw the Challenger memorial at Arlington which reminded me of that day. I definitely feel differently about it as an adult.

There were a ton of soap operas on back then. The Days of our Lives opening always reminded me of being home sick.

I would stay home, watch Turner classic movies or saved by the bell episodes until I fell back asleep. Got up around noon for lunch and video games

Moms didn't play that game. She she was a nurse, so she got out the thermometer and you had to have a legit fever or see/hear you barfing.

When I was that sick, I just wanted to get better.

I played Bases Loaded on the NES all day. I won a few games which was rare because I was terrible. I wasn't even that sick. First true homesick memory.

I was home sick when the Challenger Shuttle exploded. Remember it like it was yesterday.

I don't spend the day in bed, but I love a cold, rainy weekend day. Feel like I can do nothing productive and not feel too guilty about it.

Agreed!

Every year around Christmas time I hope for a cold rainy day so I can brew a pot of coffee and watch the Lord of the Rings trilogy, extended editions. That's about 9 hours of Tolkien/Jackson magic.

Never remember staying home and actually being sick. Played sick a couple times to watch UNC in early rounds of March madness around 8th/9th grade though.

F Troop, Gilligans Island, and something else came on in the morning. Then Price is Right. It was torture the next few hours until afternoon cartoons came on.

I ice down a 30 pack, get in my old hunting truck and ride fields all day looking for deer. I can do this by myself or with a buddy, I have a ball either way.
