I think it’s got more to do with men being distracted with the stress of providing, and not wanting to read the writing on the wall.
Many a good men has denied what they know deep down, because that means the destruction of the family and the trust that is shattered. Easier to go on oblivious sometimes.
Wives know their husbands schedule. They know when they can sneak around. Anyone that thinks “she can’t be cheating, she doesn’t have the time.”

I never said that women didn’t cheat...and they probably are smarter at it.
It’s still more often that men cheat over women. Women will cheat because something is missing/wrong/they are hurt. Men often cheat because there is opportunity, not necessarily because they feel something is missing.
Most of the males I know say they are happy at home, don’t want a change, etc. They cheat because they had an easy opportunity and want sex outside their wives. It’s different for women, they typically cheat because they aren’t happy.

The truth is women will deny deny deny and manipulate to hide infidelity when men will admit to it much quicker. I've seen men honestly feel bad for cheating when 9 of 10 times the woman has a million different excuses instead of admitting they were wrong.

Women having affairs more often tend to dog and belittle their men. They will talk down on them because the don’t respect them, even if they are working out of town or long hours to provide for the family. They will insult them and laugh at them with Jody or their friends.
While men may be frustrated, they are less likely to berate their wife. Complain maybe, but they generally don’t insult her like women do to men. Men are much more capable of compartmentalizing things like that. It’s why men have had wives and mistresses and all that for Millennia.
A man can be a rake and still have a family he loves at home.
A woman is much more likely to forsake her family for a fling. I’ve seen it first hand

It’s a lifetime of observation, not just of myself but of others. It’s listening to justifications. It’s how our brains are wired differently.
This isn’t some “oh I saw one woman acting bad so all women are this way.”
