Essentially, they want us to understand slavery and teach how it put African Americans at a disadvantage in later generations. Also that our founding fathers did not have the best interest of all people when they created the Declaration of Independence.
There is also a section of how African Americans contributed more to society and helped the South grow from a completely agricultural society to one of business.
We had to send our thought/opinions on new curriculum ideas back.
