My old district and I tried to follow the race closely. There was a black male democrat, a white male democrat and a white female democrat.
In no way did any of the candidates differentiate themselves ideologically or even professionally.
In the primary the black democrat came in first and Mandie came in second and the white guy third. It was really close. I think the white democrats then put Mandie in.
This is Walt Leger's old district, Leger is a Democrat but never did anything too radical. I don't think grandstanding like this helps her. But who knows.
