Anybody heard anything new on this?

Why the downvotes? We got 12 LSP troopers in here?

Gun on the floorboard tells me all I need to know! Another George Floyd?

The family had some quotes in WBRZ yesterday.
quote:WBRZ
Nicholas' stepfather Dr. Ronnie Knox told WBRZ on Wednesday the timeline of his stepson's death is confusing and leaves many questions.
"How did it escalate to a confrontation? Was he in the car when the confrontation started or was he out of the car? That we don't know," he said.
The family is also unsure as to why Nicholas was in St. Amant at 2 a.m. and why he would have been pulled over.
"To the people, why was he in that area? Was it a crime he was in St. Amant at that time? Last time I checked, this was America. I'm free to go wherever I choose, when I choose, how I choose," Knox said.
So the family has no idea why he was in St Amant that late at night. Yet they are sure he must not have done anything wrong.

Did he lose his body camera before or after he returned fire?

Was the trooper a woman? The WBRZ article says “her”

While mostly true, you can't just go anywhere you want..

irrelevant.

Should be in the police report.

Because the cop said there was a gun on the floor board? The same cops who turn off the body cams to discuss their story after any type of interaction?

Newsflash: There are way more criminals out there than there are bad cops, I would bet my life on that!

That type of thinking will get you shot in the neck in front of your wife and kids. Just ask the OT Moderates here.

If this what happened there will be two different spent brass at the scene. They had that area shut down for a while. Im sure looking for that and the camera. Not every cop is out there with an itchy trigger finger

LSP has both body worn cameras and dash cameras.
From the recently released video of the Trooper involved shooting near Houma, they showed video from both cameras.
Should still be able to observe the majority of the Troopers actions with the dash camera.

State Police have asked anyone with information about the incident, including pictures or videos, to call 1-800-434-8007 or make an anonymous report on the agency’s website.
What information are they seeking? This is unusual. The suspect is dead. Don’t they have dash cam and body cam footage?
Edit: listened to the dispatch. Saw that he lost his body camera. Although it wasn’t specifically stated, it sounds like the trooper fired back and probably hit him either before or after he was taking off . He later states he bailed out of the car and said “get medical“. He either caught him on foot or the guy collapsed and that’s when the officer reported the injuries.

The full video has been released. Please voice your opinions about this unfortunate situation and how it could have been avoided.
Thank you
Thank you

Hard to tell from the video if he actually reached for the gun, but he’d be alive today had he told the truth and not ran.
Cop was being pretty chill until he saw the gun.
I’m leaning towards believing the trooper in this incident.

I don't understand why people think that they can get away and not expect consequences. Can't tell if the driver had the gun as he tried to drive off.
