So does anyone have any update on why the hell they were closing off Delaunes because of this? We're talking a pretty good ways down the highway from where the traffic stop occurred.

Sucks to be a police officer these days
use your weapon and you will be investigated
victim has all the rights
in split second decisions would you protect your life

Maybe stopped and shot by the STA Freshmen Academy and then fled towards Delaune’s? That is a good ways away from the initial stop. Just speculation as of now

The rotisserie chicken at Delaunes is great! They smoke them and they're delicious.

Pulled over around Sno Sheets, fired shots, suspect took off in car towards Delaune’s, trooper following him.

request the bodycam and get back to us
LSP has a track record of poor body cam records. If it gets out soon it's probably not a blatant error on the cops part. If the cop is in the wrong the body cam footage will go missing. To probably pop up in a couple yrs by a third party.

UPDATE
State Police decline to give details on Ascension Parish trooper-involved shooting
State Police decline to give details on Ascension Parish trooper-involved shooting
quote:
ASCENSION PARISH, La. (WAFB) - Louisiana State Police have declined to release anything but very basic details about Tuesday morning’s deadly shooting involving a trooper in Ascension Parish. The shooting happened just before 2 a.m. on LA Highway 431 and Hwy 935, not far from St. Amant High School.
quote:
In the past, the Louisiana State Police have typically released preliminary details on such incidents within a matter of hours. However, late Tuesday afternoon, more than 13 hours after the shooting, State Police Trooper Shelby Mayfield, the Troop A spokesperson, said no new information was available.
State Police have only said that a trooper discharged his or her weapon during a traffic stop, wounding a person who later died. The trooper was not injured.
It was unclear why the Louisiana State Police had not asked another agency to investigate the shooting, since it involved one of their own.
The incident led to road closures for multiple hours as police processed the scene.
State Police have asked anyone with information about the incident, including pictures or videos, to call 1-800-434-8007 or make an anonymous report on the agency’s website.

935 is also Bayou Narcisse.
Was it ever confirmed which intersection?

Weird that they are asking for people to come forward with information. Things must not be adding up. The family states they weren't allowed to see his body and that he was transferred to Jefferson Parish for autopsy without anyone getting to see him. He was identified by his driver license.

Gotta get the stories straight and get rid of the evidence!

Probably because there’s a history of embarrassing video getting out after they clear an officer.

Not allowing family to see the body is standard in any homicide. At that point, the body is evidence, so allowing family to see the body would be risking the contamination of evidence.
I know nothing about this specific incident, just sharing a bit of info on why that is typically not allowed.
