At this point, I'd rather be catching trout and redfish than hitting some frickin retard golf ball around.

Btw, hey Janky

28-hole golf course

My guess is someone fat fingered it, and it's really 18.
However, it could be 27 holes with a short par 3 betting hole at the end. The course in Kinder has a 19th betting hole that's like 110 yards.

Y'all can down vote, ban me are talk shite! But they should've been fined more! That's what's wrong with the world today. They cut down trees and fill in natural water ways to build a GOLF COURSE.. What about the animals living there. Some people just don't appreciate nature.

You're exactly right. If we would stop destroying wetlands then we would achieve world peace and all live in harmony. Crime would be a memory and all diseases would be cured!

Mitigation banks are huge rackets, especially if you know someone at the NOLA USACOE

I have a friend with a ton of wetlands and he inquired about it. He was basically told good luck. The Stream family has a lot of it sewn up in SWLA.

Yeah, unless you know one of the few people that approve mitigation banks, you're pretty much SOL.

It's nearly impossible.

Dad has a camp on the Pearl River with 10 acres of wetland and .5 of it is actually usable.

We tried to mitigate, shite wasn't happenin.

That area has been a golf course for ~100 years numb nuts. In fact, this project is reducing the historical golf footprint at city park from four golf courses to two, and will create nature acreage, and generate funds that can be used to improve nature and wildlife habitat.

Last I heard, and acre in the BR area is running between $30k-$70k. I'm sure someone here can confirm/correct that.

Not catching those in city park's "wetlands".

And damn 20k...that's a steal. I usually use 150-200k per acre for forested wetland as a ballpark.

The area we are talking about was...wait for it...

A GOLF COURSE. That had been abandoned since Katrina. It wasn't wetlands for the past 100 years. It was a golf course that was abandoned and so overrun for the past 10 years that it basically became wetlands.

It was likely wetlands before fwiw.

shite 20k isn't bad though. There's a case up here where some guy tore up 100 acres of exceptional/high-value wetlands hope he gets hammered
