This has gone on long enough. They need to remove the emergency powers given to the Governor and Mayors. We are no longer in an Emergency situation.

If they cant get to 53 votes, at least we will know who the cowards are that just dont want to piss off the Governor, so he will give them their "fair share" of federal funds.

They are bending over so they can get millions to spend on pet projects in their district and award the contracts to their friends/family.

Many a hunting lease is fixing to get "renovations" in exchange for them selling out their constituents.

This has reached the point of insanity. This is what it's like living in an authoritarian state.

You realize that the majority of neighboring states have the same restrictions right?

Texas has essentially the same restrictions as Louisiana. So does Alabama, Florida, North Carolina, Tennessee.

It’s not like JBE is some crazy outlier Holding Louisianans hostage while all our neighbors go scot free

How is our percent positives compared to these other states? I bet we are lower.
Texas bars have been open for a while. Not sure about other states.

Texas bars are only open if they meet certain food/restaurant criteria, similar to Louisiana. Bars operating as pure bars are definitely closed.

Your hypocrisy in defending those states governors and attacking JBE shows you’re madder at the D in front of his name than the actual lockdowns. Or you’d be criticizing them as well

Florida bars have mostly stayed open by selling potato chips or telling people to bring their own food. All Florida bars can open to 50% capacity Monday. Florida is far more open than we are.

Why would we criticize a governor we didn't vote for in a state we don't live in?

What time do Florida/Texas/MS "bars" have to close?

Many of these states have already started high school football weeks ago, so yes they are more open.

Well, I don’t live in any of THOSE states. I live in Louisiana.

But if it makes you feel any better, any state that has restrictions similar to ours...their governors are authoritarian cocksuckers too, just like ours. R or D behind their names notwithstanding.

Happy now?

To this point I have agreed that since other states around us had basically the same restrictions, it was what it was.

After today, you can’t say that.

I'm not voting for my incumbent "R" representative next go around. I'll try my luck with ANY other Republican on the ballot.

The Louisiana GOP has no balls. None. My cat would do just as well in office.

Me either. Mine didn’t sign the petition.

And I will make it my business to actively campaign for one of his opponents.

So I'm being told by someone who may or may not have a clue that if the EO is overridden, then the governor can't have any other EOs .. as in NO HURRICANE LAURA FEMA MONEY.

Anyone know anything???

I'm going to call BS on that. More scare tactics.

Trump can order FEMA to hand out Halloween candy on Easter if he really has to.

I dont give a fuk about what other states are doing. I dont live there so no fuks given. This state should be open wide azz open. if you can have schools open, Wal Mart open, restaurants open, then you can open it all. Makes no damn sense but this clown is on the biggest power trip in history. I seriously hope he runs for a Senate seat
