Individual rates go off of sooooo many factors outside of just accident history. If he was at a previous carrier for 5+ years, doesn't have any tickets or incidents, has good credit, and a decent consumer report then carriers will give massive discounts to get him to sign.
If you price shop and change carriers every year or every other year, that will impact your rate. And if you ever have a period where you had no coverage at all, your rate will (rightfully) be jacked up.

I need any discount I can get, because when I add my daughter, my bill will double.

I know, I work for an Allstate agent, it is very rare that I see those coverages on 2 vehicles that are that low, regardelss of what insurance company. He musu be in a rating tier hotspot for Geico.

The GEICO credit is good for the next 6 months as you renew your coverage and if you start a new policy. Everyone gets 15% off their full 6 month premium.
GEICO estimates The total for all 28 million vehicles it insures will be about $2.5 billion

all state is giving me $34 for April. Jokes on them, ive been driving more this month already.
And while we are on Jake, who the frick actually has a relationship with an auto insurance agent? They seem like basically worthless. I sign up online and they just give you some random bloke in your area that you will ever speak with. just get stupid emails from.

I am in Louisiana. I’ll go back and edit that post. I’m just not a shitty driver with shitty credit.

You’re prob right, but LA is full of overweight, bad drivers (or totally uninsured), many of whom live in flood zones or crime areas

Agree - it is pretty funny. At the end of the day, everyone is pooling their money together to protect against catastrophic financial events. How much you contribute to the pool is based off of risk modeling that tries to predict how much you will cost based off of a bunch of inputs (age, sex, gender, accident history, tickets, make, model, credit history, etc.). Insurance isn't a scam, if you have a shitty rate shop around. If you have shitty rates with every insurer, it's either your own fault or you just are unlucky enough to fall into a group in the modeling that dings you. Buy a cheaper car, drop collision/comprehensive and self insure, or suck it up and pay.

I bet you think insurance is a scam and are one of those jackasses that says "I didn't have an accident, I should get my premium back!!"
Nope, I just don’t think that it’s fair for them to steadily increase my premium when I haven’t filed a claim nor had an accident or received a ticket.

You should shop around - most insurers give "new customer" discounts. It's like cable (before cord cutting) - if you don't swap every year or two, you will end up paying extra so they can discount the new customers.

I very much believe in insurance and i really like my agent. When my kitchen flooded...he was there within an hour to just check in. ...him being a great guy running a great office and being a pillar in the community is worth a bit of a premium (to me) Dealing with corporate call centers and "well sir this is the depreciated value of your cabinetry" is...a scam

It’s hard to not look at car insurance as a scam when I pay three grand a year, get my tires and wheels stolen, then have to pay around a grand just to use that same insurance I’ve already paid for
