St Tammany, what are you hearing about a mask mandate repeal in schools?

I know there is an special school board meeting scheduled for 4:30 today. Jabbia is presenting after THREE minutes of public comment. I’m inclined to go this afternoon but assume they won’t let anyone in similar to last time.

We’ve failed our children to allow this to happen this long. But if we don’t stand up this will never end.
I’m disappointed in myself for putting our children through this and plan to run for the school board next cycle. Fatman and I will ride.

Mandated masks end today. An option to wear them is up to the parent and faculty.

I haven't seen confirmation about the buses yet. They are somehow tied to federal regulations.

Keep your little super spreaders contained please. My wife is a teacher and is at risk due to her hypothyroidism and fibromyalgia and those masks are literally the only thing keeping her safe from the little walking covid factories while she’s putting in long hours as an essential school employee

My wife is a teacher in St. Tammany and hates masks and mandates, but the quarantining rules they're required to follow if they repeal the masks are far worse

Not sure if this is a troll but this seems to be a prevailing thought for some school employees. What I say to that is our kids have sacrificed for your wife’s health for too long. No other generation or civilized culture sacrifices their youth for the old and or sick.

the stupidity of the protective measures are driving parents and kids not report any symptoms

and we STILL havent had a massive outbreak

States with no masks in schools have the same or lower rates of infection than states with make mandates, so your wife is not at risk. There is no benefit to masking, especially when masks are made from the same material as shirts or your underwear.

While it should be obvious to everyone that masks made of cloth wouldn't make a difference anyway, the actual rates of infection bear this out. Ruining children's experience in school is not acceptable, especially when it's based on pseudo-science driven by emotions instead of logic.

Children are more likely to be eaten by a shark or hit by lightning than be affected by this virus and it's apparent they're not vectors of infection. Children are the healthiest, strongest group among the population anyway.

You are preaching to the choir...I'm not sure what i said in my post to attract such a sermon, all I was saying is that the alternative to the mask mandate as proposed by the governor is not a viable option

At the first board meeting the week before school he said that we just needed to get through the next 18 days. I'm voting each member of the school board out whenever they come up for re-election.

My error, I meant to respond to El Gaucho, whining about unclean children affecting his wife.

Let's go Brandon!
