Which OT posters are these?

Lol... people are dumb. I wish those who didn't zipper merge or allow for it could be ticketed

The average citizen is so fricking stupid. I love interacting with people who don’t understand that zipper merges are more efficient. Those that take it as an afront to their pride and honor when you try and merge in at the barricade.

People who don't understand the concept of zippering really struggle in round-a-bouts also.

Zipper merge is great. I always ride that beau chene turn lane all the way to francos and then "ZIP" right in.

I attended a public display on the potential HWY 1088 project, which involved a few scenarios. One of them was a median with pedestrian bikepath. You should have heard the responses. Bitching about the traffic, the traffic, the traffic. Asking how much does this cost like they are buying a car. They bitch about the roads and infrastructure, and then when a proposal to solve the problem (and grow the area) is introduced, they bitch about that. I witnessed so much LA near sightedness at that forum. They asked for written feedback, and I wrote something along the lines of stop listening to these buffoons and do what you think is best for the parish, and you know that is improving infrastructure to market to new business and serve the needs of the residents. I told them to go with the most expensive option

If the single lane can support traffic flowing without a slowdown, then the zipper merge technique will frick things up. No different than a merge into the interstate: match speed and get in early. You don't stop at the end of the lane.
If traffic is already at a crawl, it really doesn't matter. Merge has to happen somewhere.

Y’all zipper mergers want to sound all smart like you know something other people don’t know.
But I’m going to agree with the Facebook responders.
Zipper merging works in theory, on paper. But it fails when you get to the end of the lane and a couple dickheads won’t let you merge. Then you have to come to an abrupt stop and try to merge from a complete stop. frick all that
I agree with merging sooner if there is an opening

I’m not sure of the validity of the person telling me to take a ‘sippy sip’

Honest question, is this what you're supposed to do when going west on I10 through New Orleans and you take the southerly exit for the Crescent Bridge and Claiborne? Cause that's the most f***ed up ramp. And folks get really angry if you try to zipper merge, even though it is the proper way.
I never understood why it backs up so much even when 90 is moving just fine.

Zipper merging is superior in computer simulations where every car cooperates.
It doesn’t take into account baws with truck nuts and teenagers on tik tok while driving

Can they translate that PSA into Spanish and show it in Dallas and Houston

I see this in two spots on my commute.
here is the problem. The people in the lane that is ending just go fricking crazy. So instead of zippering they speed up and try to just get in front of whoever. So you might have 2-3 cars speed up and cut people off causing the whole line to stop.

Comments here will be about the same. People are idiots.

Just do whatever is most inconvenient for the a-hole that didn’t want you to merge at first.

Plus it’s just kinda common sense and common courtesy to take turns letting a car each into the lane.
