No input on the schools, but I personally wouldn't live south of that intersection of 59 and 1088.

There’s a reason houses are cheaper in the lakeshore and Fontainebleau school districts. Location is further out from causeway and the high schools are not as good as Mandeville. Pay the premium to stay close to causeway and in the mandeville school district.

Traffic is also night and day in mandeville by causeway approach compared to Covington and madisonville areas.

Also an interesting piece of advice. Not familiar with that particular part of Mandeville. Traffic bad in that spot? Why wouldnt you want to live there.
Thank you.

I believe he is referring to the traffic. I spend lots of time in Mandeville and people bitch about the traffic constantly. Sometimes it takes two cycles of the light to get through an intersection at peak hours!!! I laugh, living in Baton Rouge, and say “yall don’t know how good you have it.” Then they complain about the time some kids vandalized a sign and spray painted graffiti as if they are a crime Mecca. And did you hear they caught a shoplifter at the CVS!!!!

The developers dont think so. Jesus, the new construction solicitations are out of control.
Btw, I'll be moving into a house that someone else is moving out of so...should be even Steven's with me.

Something tells me you would have had issues regardless of where you went to high school.

They probably do that just to be polite.

Private school or bust.

MHS and FHS are only “good” by Louisiana standards.

If you are looking to buy look on west causeway approach but don’t get too far down by Francos or madisonville traffic gets bad. Fontainebleau subdivision is probably your best bang for your buck and location, woodstone, sanctuary, shadows, beau rivage(if on a lower budget) are all good options. Then you have beau chene obviously and river oaks is a nice neighborhood as well but you have to take a long service road to get there.

Best answer so far.
Sometimes a visual representation communicates more effectively!
Thank you.

Mandeville is a great HS.
Daughter went there for two years before moving to Dutchtown. It's just as good as DTHS(that's a compliment).

Went to Mandeville 15 years ago, it was considered the best of the public schools and still is, as far as I know.

Covington was the redneck school, St. Paul’s was the rich kid private school with good drugs, SSA girls gave the best blowjobs, Fountainbleu was just kinda new and didn’t really have much of a reputation.

My son is a freshman at Covington HS and I have been impressed and haven’t seen one knucklehead all year. (I drop him off each morning).

The principal is always out front each morning near the student lot and we have zero complaints so far.
